For almost a decade now, I have been practising mindfulness. I took my first course in 2016 and have been on many courses and retreats since then. I’ve been introducing people to the concept and signposting them to resources and expert teaching organisations ever since, through my work and my workshops. I’ve never had any desire to take formal qualifications as I’ve never wanted to teach the 8-week courses. However, last year, the Oxford Mindfulness Foundation offered a teaching qualification for those who want to “Introduce Mindfulness” I qualified last month.
I also had the delight and privilege of being taught to teach “Deeper Mindfulness” by Professor Mark Williams, at Bangor University through The Mindfulness Network. He is one of the three men responsible for developing Mindfulness-Based Cognitive therapy – a personal hero!
